Many Super Eagles fans thoroughly enjoyed it when Emmanuel Dennis saw red and his Watford sunk into the relegation zone in the Premier League, saying it is because he is under a Nigerian curse for staying away from the AFCON.
Dennis was sent off in the 78th minute after a second booking as visiting Norwich City won this relegation six-pointer 3-0 Friday night.
The loss has dropped Watford into the relegation zone and lifted Norwich City out of it.
Fans have now celebrated the misfortune that has befallen Dennis and his club, who stopped him from joining the Eagles at the AFCON in Cameroon so he could help them battle relegation.
“Since Watford stopped Emmanuel Dennis from going to AFCON because he was “too important for them”, he hasn’t scored any goal, they haven’t won any match. They are currently in the relegation zone. Dennis just got a red card. Nigerians have placed a curse on Watford,” tweeted Ezenwanyi Camp Nou
“Refused to release Emmanuel Dennis for AFCON and he’s rewarded Watford with horrible performance, that’s what I call real justice,” celebrated @Silhouett3Yrome
Dr Udiee @1stGeuiss added to the jibe: “Emmanuel Dennis missed #afcon2021 and now has been red carded to miss all the Premier League games till #AFCON21 ends. No be juju be that?”
“Watford withheld Emmanuel Dennis from representing Nigeria at #AFCON2021,” said @ChumaNnoli
“Nigerians swore for them.
“Now Watford are in the relegation zone after losing to fellow strugglers Norwich – with Dennis red carded in the game.
“Fear Nigerians!!”
