AFCON 2021: Toriola Tell Eagles To Bring The Trophy Home

Chief Executive Officer, MTN Nigeria, Karl Olutokun Toriola has charged the Nigeria Super Eagles to make the country proud by becoming champions of the continent at this year’s Nations Cup tournament.

This goodwill message from the communication giants boss is coming barely hours to Nigeria’s first Group D match against Egypt today.

“We are backing the boys to make us proud in Cameroon. This team can go all the way and win the trophy. They have a proud nation brimming with passion behind them, and we are also behind them all the way.

“At the last tournament, we finished third, and we should be pushing on from there. The team is filled with talented boys with an opportunity to make history, and we want them to grab it”, Toriola said.

MTN Nigeria, as the official communication partner of the Super Eagles, has continuously reiterated its support for the team and the technical staff.

It would be recalled that the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Pinnick, showered encomium on the communication giants for their prompt response in providing two 24-seater boats that ferried the team to Porto Novo in 2021 to face Benin Republic.

Toriola was announced as a member  of the Federal Government delegation to Cameroon for the Nations Cup.

The delegation led by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu includes; the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila, the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, Chief Executive Officer, MTN Nigeria,  Karl Toriola, Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare among others.

The Super Eagles coached by ex-international Austin Eguavoen will begin their Group D opener against the Pharaoh’s of Egypt today in Garoua, Cameroon.
