The management of Heartland FC of Owerri has thanked the state government and their fans for standing behind them despite the challenges facing the team.
In a statement signed by the acting General Manager, Promise Nwachukwu, the management thanked the government and the people of Imo state for their unflinching support over the years.
Nwachukwu said Heartland FC has noticed with dismay, the activities of detractors who have decided to use the social media to de-market and denigrate club but said the club is professionally run and a responsible organisation that do not conduct her businesses on social media.
“It is worthy of note, that at the end of last season, the club painstakingly reviewed her activities and took proactive as well as pragmatic steps to ensure better productivity. Players who under performed last season were sent to the youth team until such a time when they will improve with the rest of the team.
“Players who went against the code of conduct of the club through gross indiscipline and unethical practices were sanctioned accordingly,” he said.
Reacting to the alleged indebtedness to Ifeanyi Ekwueme and Select, Nwachukwu said Ifeanyi Ekwueme failed to deliver on his obligation to the club.
