Tyson Fury Recruits Former AJ’s Foe As Sparring Partner

Tyson Fury has recruited Jarrell Miller as a new sparring partner to help him prepare for his fight with Dillian Whyte on April 23.

The disgraced unbeaten heavyweight was previously due to fight Anthony Joshua in 2019, but failed multiple drugs tests and so his place was taken by Andy Ruiz Jr.

Back then he escaped any notable punishment due a loophole in the US boxing system – he did not hold a licence at the time and so was unable to be reprimanded by the New York state commission.

As a result, in 2020, Miller signed with Bob Arum’s Top Rank and was due to come back against Jerry Forrest.

However, he tested positive once more and the bout was cancelled.

This time Miller was sincerely punished as the Nevada Commission did licence him and therefore handed him a two-year ban from the sport.

Now, almost two years on, his ban is nearly up and due to end on June 16.

With this in mind, Miller has re-emerged from the shadows and flown to England as a surprise additional sparring partner for Fury.

The WBC heavyweight world champion is preparing to defend his belt against Whyte.

He has been sparring Martin Bakole and David Adeleye, but was also due to recruit US heavyweight Jared Anderson.

Anderson unfortunately suffered an injury which ruled him out of the trip, and now Miller has made the journey across the pond instead.
