… Ahead Of Dortmund Europa League Clash
LEON BALOGUN admits the absence of Erling Haaland has come as a major boost for Rangers as the champions aim to finish the job against Borussia Dortmund.
Haaland was absent last Thursday as Marco Rose’s side crashed to a shock 4-2 defeat in the Westfalenstadion that has put them on the back foot heading to Ibrox.
The Norwegian striker has not travelled to Glasgow with the Dortmund squad and will play no part in the second leg as he continues to recover from a long-standing injury.
Balogun is available for selection once again following his return to training in recent days and knows the loss of their star man is a tough blow for Dortmund to suffer.
“Yes and no,” Balogun said when asked if Haaland’s absence was a bonus for Rangers. “I think in this competition you want to compete against the best and he is one of the best at the moment.
“So from that perspective it is a sad thing. But if you look at what he means to Dortmund then surely it is a disadvantage to them, it is going to weaken them a little bit.
“But then again they have got enough to compensate. Not at the same level probably.
“But mixed feelings. Definitely not going to complain about it though.
“I’m available again. I’ve been craving that, to get ready for these fixtures. I’m here, I’m ready.”
