Nigeria’s Favour Ashe, over the weekend, joined the leagues of Tennessee legends as he broke grounds at the Tyson invitation Fayetteville in Arkansas.

Ashe pushed Justin Gatlin to the 4th place on the Tennessee all time list when he breezed through the finish line in 6.52 seconds.

The Tennessee defending SEC freshman of the week set an indoor record, breaking the school’s freshman record in the 60 meter dash.

Ashe’s time is the fastest in the Southeastern Conference this season and third in the NCAA.

His mark is third fastest mark in UT history behind Scott’s 6.48 in 2001 and Christian Coleman’s school record of 6.45, which was achieved in 2017.

Meanwhile, more record-breaking performances were recorded by the duo of Rosemary Chukwuma and Anita Taviore.

Just two weeks after making her debut for Texas Tech, Chukwuma broke the School Record twice in quick succession at the Texas Tech Shootout, running times of 7.21s and 7.20s in the prelims and final respectively.

Taviore broke her school record again in the women’s 200m dash in 23.69s.
