MFM Coach Defends Team’s Poor Season Runs

Head Coach of Lagos based MFM Football Club, Olalekan Gabriel has defended his team’s poor runs in the ongoing 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League.
Olalekan whose team was exiled to Teslim Balogun Stadium, basedd on the ongoing renovation works on home ground, Agege Stadium, hinted that change of ground hindered his side’s technical ability.  He however revealed that the adopted ground, Teslim Balogun Stadium distracted his side from showcasing its talent.
Explaining further, he stated that his boys were familiar with the astro-turf pitch of the Agege Stadium compared to that of the Teslim Balogun Stadium which wears a natural grass.
“ I’m not happy with the form of my boys. It’s obvious we have not been doing well in the ongoing season but I can assure you we’ll bounce back.
“ I noticed my boys are yet to adapt with the natural grass of our interim ground, Teslim Balogun Stadium. They found it difficult because they are used to the astroturf of the Agege Stadium.
“ But with time, we will get use to this and bounce back to winning ways. I urge the fans never to loose focus because we still have a long way to go. The season is still young and I’m confidence the Church Boys will make us proud,” he stated.
Having maintained the bottom spot on the log with six points from eight games, the Olukoya Boys will this weekend host 3SC of the Ibadan in a western derby billed for tomorrow.
