Senegal and Liverpool forward, Sadio Mane, has further expressed his feelings by going to bed with the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations trophy after lifting it at the weekend.
The Teranga Lions dazzler, who on Sunday inspired his side to victory against Egypt, disclosed this on Monday via his verified Instagram handle.
Before grabbing the cup, he was outstanding throughout the competition, scoring three goals and providing two assists to help Senegal become AFCON champions for the first time.
He saw a penalty saved early on during the final, but later held his nerve to smash in the decisive spot-kick and was duly recognised as the tournament’s best player.
In a post match image, the reigning Africa football king who struck the winning spot-kick to seal his country’s 4-2 shootout victory over Mohamed Salah’s Egypt, deprived his teammates from going to bed with the Africa’s most prestigious soccer trophy. With the post, he however hinted he had the trophy to himself all night.
The Islamic faithful however showed gratitude while captioning the image. “ Al-hamdu Lilllahi,” he wrote.
