Super Eagles and Napoli star, Victor Osimhen, is on the radar of Premier League side Arsenal ahead of the reopening of the transfer window, according to The Mirror.
The Gunners are in the market for a striker following the permanent departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Barcelona in the January transfer window, while the futures of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are up in the air with both out of contract in the summer.
Manager Mikel Arteta is considering moves for one of Alexander Isak, Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Osimhen to fill the void created by the departure of Aubameyang.
However, Arsenal has competition for the services of the Nigeria international, with their north London rivals, Totteham Hotspur, also in the running for his signature in the summer.
Osimhen won’t come cheap given that Napoli paid €70 million to acquire him from Lille in 2020, making the 2015 U17 World Cup winner the most expensive African-born player in history.
The 23-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal after the U17 World Cup in Chile but turned them down in favour of a move to Wolfsburg.
At club level, Osimhen has scored 58 career goals in 137 appearances as a professional
