New Manchester United interim boss, Ralf Rangnick wants to revolutionise the club’s attack by bringing in Erling Haaland, Timo Werner and RB Leipzig pair Christopher Nkunku and Amadou Haidara, according to reports.
Rangnick was announced as the Red Devils’ new temporary coach on Monday until the end of the season, before he takes a two-year consultancy role at Old Trafford. The 63-year-old arrived at Old Trafford on Wednesday and looked around the club’s facilities.
The German is not only known for his excellent coaching through an attractive style of play but also has experience of handling the transfer market through his sporting director roles at RB Leipzig, RB Salzburg and Lokomotiv Moscow.
And according to German news outlet BILD, Rangnick will make an attempt to bring Borussia Dortmund striker, Haaland to Old Trafford, as the German knows his father and agent, Alf-Inge, well.
Rangnick was in a sporting director role at Salzburg when Haaland rose to prominence in Austria during the winter of 2019, as the Norwegian scored 28 goals in 22 games before sealing a £18million move to Dortmund at the start of 2020.
Meanwhile, the same report claimed Rangnick is interested in bringing Chelsea striker, Werner to Manchester in the summer – after the German coach’s interim contract at Old Trafford comes to an end.
Sportsmail revealed earlier this week, RB Leipzig midfielder, Haidara is also on Manchester United’s shortlist with the club’s scouts set to watch the Mali international against Union Berlin on Friday night.
But BILD claimed Haidara’s club teammate, Nkunku is also on United’s watchlist after impressing for the German club over the past two years.
