Kwara Governor To Declare 40th Public Service Games Open

 


Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq will today, at the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin declare open the 40th edition of the Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA).

The State Head of Service, Mrs. Susan Modupe Oluwole said that the President of the Federation, Comrade Aloku Amaebi and top echelon of the Public Service would join Governor AbdulRazaq.

She added that the state government is committed to the staging of hitch-free Games, as over 10,000 Public Servants are expected to converge at the stadium for the weeklong sporting fiesta.

Mrs. Oluwole applauded the federation for choosing the state for the competition, which she said would encourage fraternity and unity among Public Servants.

Also speaking, Comrade Amaebi commended the state government for accepting to host the Games, describing it as a laudable initiative, adding that it will impact positively on the economy of the state.

He disclosed that participants will compete in 15 events, which includes football, handball, volleyball, basketball, tennis, table tennis, badminton, squash, dart, athletics, swimming, scrabble, chess, draft and Ayo.

Comrade Amaebi explained that Kwara State was given the hosting right because of its noticeable peaceful environment and its forefront role in the promotion of sports.
